Q3 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Grundy County?

There were eight offenders released on parole during the third quarter that live in Grundy County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Illinois Valley Times.

The data shows that seven men and one woman were released in Grundy County. The median age of the parolees was 32. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018, and the oldest was a 56-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Andrew J. Viles. He was convicted of a property crime in 2013 when he was 28 years old. He is now 34.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the third quarter in each Grundy County municipality.
