Q1 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Bureau County?

There were nine offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Bureau County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Illinois Valley Times.

The data shows that five men and four women were released in Bureau County. The median age of the parolees was 34. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 49-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Michael Taylor. He was convicted of a property crime in 2015 when he was 41 years old. He is now 45.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Bureau County municipality.
