Illinois Valley Community Hospital issued the following announcement on July 2.
Mary Jauch of Peru is the 2019 winner of the Carol Greening Memorial Nursing Scholarship administered by the Illinois Valley Community Hospital Foundation.
A graduate of the nursing program at Illinois Valley Community College and an IVCH nurse for almost 20 years, Janch will use the scholarship to help her obtain a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Western Governors University. She says her goal is to become a nurse educator.
Carol Greening was an IVCH nurse manager who died in 2000. The scholarship was established in her memory by her husband, the late Ken Greening, and has been continued by the Greening family since his death.
