July-Dec. 2018 Recap: Parolees in Spring Valley convicted of property crimes

There were two offenders convicted of property crimes released on parole in Spring Valley during the second half of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Illinois Valley Times.

The data shows that a man and woman were released in Spring Valley. The younger parolee was a 26-year-old man sentenced in 2016. The other was a 34-year-old woman sentenced in 2016.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Kari L. Kathamegos. She was convicted of a property crime in 2016 when she was 31 years old. She is now 34.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders during the second half of 2018 who were convicted of property crimes.
