City of Marseilles City Council met May 15.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The City Council of the City of Marseilles met in the City Chamber of City Hall at the hour of 6:00 P.M.

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Roll call showed the following present: Mayor Hollenbeck, Commissioner Kaminski, Lewey, Davis and Buckingham. Absent: None.

Moved by Commissioner Kaminski seconded by Commissioner Lewey that the minutes from the Council meeting of May 1, 2019 be approved as displayed and placed on file. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Lewey, Schaefer, Buckingham, and Mayor Hollenbeck. Nays: None.

Moved by Commissioner Kaminski seconded by Commissioner Buckingham that the accounts payable for the first half of May in the amount of $111,298.47 be approved and a warrant be drawn on the City Treasury for the said amount. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Lewey, Schaefer, Buckingham, and Mayor Hollenbeck. Nays: None.

Moved by Commissioner Kaminski seconded by Commissioner Lewey that the payroll for the first half of May in the amount of $60,015.51 be approved and a warrant be drawn on the City Treasury for said amount. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Lewey, Schaefer, Buckingham, and Mayor Hollenbeck. Nays: None.

Moved by Commissioner Lewey seconded by Commissioner Kaminski that the monthly department reports for April be approved and placed on file. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Lewey, Schaefer, Buckingham, and Mayor Hollenbeck. Nays: None.

Moved by Mayor Hollenbeck seconded by Commissioner Lewey that the bid for 504 Wallace Street property sale be approved. Bob Hauge was awarded the bid at $12,500. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Lewey, Schaefer, Buckingham, and Mayor Hollenbeck. Nays: None.

Moved by Commissioner Buckingham seconded by Commissioner Kaminski that the payment to John Pohar and Sons in the amount of $33,675.60 for the Lawrence Avenue drainage be approved. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Lewey, Schaefer, Buckingham, and Mayor Hollenbeck. Nays: None.

Moved by Commissioner Buckingham seconded Commissioner Kaminski that ordinance 1708, an ordinance amending the Code of Marseilles as to water and sewer fees be adopted. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Lewey, Schaefer, Buckingham, and Mayor Hollenbeck. Nays: None.

Moved by Commissioner Lewey seconded by Commissioner Kaminski that resolution 2019-23, a resolution declaring 521 Broadway Street a public nuisance be adopted. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Lewey, Schaefer, and Mayor Hollenbeck. Nays: Commissioner Buckingham.

Moved by Commissioner Kaminski seconded by Commissioner Buckingham that Resolution 2019-24, a resolution authorizing Mayor to sign annexation agreement with Perona Real Estate LLC be adopted. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Lewey, Schaefer, Buckingham, and Mayor Hollenbeck. Nays: None.

Moved by Commissioner Kaminski seconded by Commissioner Buckingham that ordinance 1709, an ordinance granting a zoning map amendment for Perona Real Estate LLC be adopted. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Lewey, Schaefer, Buckingham, and Mayor Hollenbeck. Nays: None.

Moved by Mayor Hollenbeck seconded by Commissioner Lewey that Ordinance 1710, an ordinance making text amendments to the city of Marseilles zoning ordinance relevant to business districts be adopted. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Lewey, Schaefer, Buckingham, and Mayor Hollenbeck. Nays: None.

Commissioner Kaminski stated the UAW will be at the wall 5-18-2019 at 4:30 P.M. Commissioner Lewey reminded residents to clean up grass clippings as it is a $150 fine. Commissioner also congratulated Chief Faber for being awarded a $8,400 grant for cameras in the new police vehicles. Commissioner Schaefer said Fillebrowne Street bids will be 6-3-2019.

Moved by Commissioner Kaminski seconded by Commissioner Buckingham that the city council adjourn. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Lewey, Schaefer, Buckingham, and Mayor Hollenbeck. Nays: None
