City of LaSalle Streets, Alleys and Traffic Committee met July 1.
Here is the minutes provided by the committee:
Chairman Bacidore called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m.
Present- Alderman Bacidore, Alderman Ptak, Alderman Reynolds, Alderman Herndon, Alderman Jeppson
Absent- None
Others Present: Jeff Bumgarner
A quorum was present.
In regard to the request from Melissa Schillaci for a stop sign northbound and southbound on Hennepin Street and Sixth Street after brief discussion, the aldermen did not feel there was enough traffic to warrant stop signs and indicated that there are Yield signs. The alderman unanimously voted to deny the request
In regard to the request from William Bradford for a handicapped parking sign in front of 832-9th Street, Mr. Bradford was present. He explained that his wife will be having knee surgery and many times neighbors’ cars take up a good portion of the block. The aldermen asked if he was agreeable to granting the request for a two year period. Mr. Bradford stated that he was agreeable to that. The aldermen voted unanimously in favor of granting the request for a handicapped sign for a period of two years.
In regard to the request for a “Blind Person in Area” sign on the east side of the alley located between 4th and 5th Streets near Creve Coeur, the aldermen voted unanimously in favor of installing two Blind Person in Area signs in the alley between 4th and 5th Streets and related matters.
In regard to the request to designate both sides of O’Conor Avenue between Crosat and La Harpe Streets as “No Parking”, Alderman Bacidore suggested designating the south side of O’Conor as no parking for approximately two car lengths back to the corner of O’Conor and Crosat Streets. After brief discussion, the aldermen voted unanimously in favor of this idea.
There were no comments or objections from the public.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
