Beth Schupp of Midwest Construction professionals gave an update on the construction project. There is some painting left to be done and the final cameras are being installed. The noise level in the new gym, caused by the HVAC, is being reviewed. The contingency amount is at $16,200 as we approach the end of the project.

Linnea Anderson Guither, Bureau Valley North Speech Pathologist, gave a presentation on the changes that the speech department is making to better serve our students. During the last school year, she and Jessica Chaney, Bureau Valley South Speech Pathologist, performed a caseload and workload study. From these studies, they then requested a third speech pathologist be hired. Elizabeth Rice has been hired, and the department is using a new approach to identifying students in need and then providing those services. They will be working with the classroom teachers in a team approach to provide services. Linnea expressed her gratitude to the Administration and Board for their support of her department’s efforts.
