The issue concerning a request from William Stafford for a street light at the intersection of Rt. 351(St. Vincent Avenue) and Ator Drive was passed on. The council will seek further information from Ameren regarding costs and location for a potential street light, as well as at the intersection of Vermilionvue Subdivision off of St. Vincent Avenue. The issue will be reconsidered at a future meeting once information is gathered.

OLD BUSINESS
Mayor Grove thanked the Public Works department for being on stand-by over the weekend in advance of the predicted winter weather.
NEW BUSINESS
Alderman Bacidore referenced a listing that Katherine sent to the aldermen of the new businesses in La Salle. Alderman Bacidore asked how many of those were brought in by IVAC, as soon our membership is up for renewal. Mrs. Koyak stated that she does not have a number, but stated that she believes it is a team effort. Some are businesses she has personally worked with over months, some come to La Salle on their own and some reach out through IVAC. Alderman Bacidore stated that he believes businesses come to La Salle because they want to jump on the bandwagon and be a part of the growth in La Salle. Alderman Bacidore stated that when IVAC provides the listing of businesses they have brought in; he will cross check it with Mrs. Koyak.

COMMENTS
Economic Development Director Katherine Koyak announced that late in the day she was notified that the City of La Salle was awarded a $500,000 CDBG grant to be used toward the continued sewer separation project. Brief discussion followed with City Engineer Brian Brown explaining that this grant allows the City to continue to meet EPA mandates. The City estimated the project will cost approximately $779,220 leaving the City to pay the difference. The project will continue sewer separation north of 11th and east of St. Vincent. This continued project should take another 45-60 acres off the system.
