City of Peru Finance & Safety Services Committee met Jan. 20.

THE FINANCE & SAFETY SERVICES COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT: Aldermen Radtke, Sapienza, Payton and Buffo present; Mayor Harl present.
OTHER PERSONS PRESENT: City Clerk Dave Bartley, Treasurer Jackson Powell, Alderman Ferrari, Alderman Waldorf, Alderman Lukosus, Alderman Ballard, Finance Officer Justin Miller was in and out, ASM/Police Chief Doug Bernabei, PSM/Fire Chief Jeff King, Human Resource Manager Kim Reese, City Engineer Eric Carls and Mike Perry of Chamlin and Associates.
MATTERS DISCUSSED
Alderman Radtke made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 6, 2020 Finance & Safety Services meeting. Alderman Payton seconded the motion; motion carried.
The Committee reviewed and approved the disbursements for payment on January 22, 2020.
PRESENTATION
OLD BUSINESS
Human Resource Manager Kim Reese informed the Committee that both the positions have been filled. Human Resource Manager Kim Reese stated Adam Thorson is the new Director of Parks, Recreation and Special Events and Kathy Korter has filled the position in Utility Billing.
NEW BUSINESS
Committed discussed and recommended $1,000 contribution to Illinois Valley Rodders Car Club. Alderman Buffo made a motion to refer request to full council. Alderman Payton seconded the motion; motion carried.
Committee discussed and recommended $2,500 contribution to Central Region Senior Baseball Tournament (Central States Tournament July 24th -29th). Alderman Buffo made a motion to refer request to full council. Alderman Payton seconded the motion; motion carried.
Committee discussed and recommended a LP Challenge day donation of $150. Alderman Buffo made a motion to refer request to full council. Alderman Payton seconded the motion; motion carried.

Alderman Sapienza made a motion to adjourn. Alderman Payton seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 6:34 p.m.
