A Committee Of A Whole meeting was called to order by City Clerk Dave Bartley in the Peru City Council Chambers on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 6:35 p.m.
City Clerk Dave Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Ferrari, Waldorf, Lukosus, Radtke, Sapienza, Payton, Ballard and Buffo present; Mayor Harl present.
MINUTES
City Clerk Dave Bartley presented the Committee Of A Whole Minutes of January 20, 2020. Alderman Waldorf made a motion that the minutes be received and placed on file. Alderman Buffo seconded the motion; motion carried.
PRESENTATION
Electric Department Foreman Kye Kaszynski addressed the committee requesting to seek bids for a new bucket truck and outlined the need for new truck:
• Hydraulic hose issues
• Loud stabilizers out of tolerance
• Rust issues
Electric Department Foreman Kye Kaszynski presented a proposal from Altec for reference specs in the presentation. Alderman Payton recommended going out for bids.
OPEN COMMITTEE DISCUSSION
Alderman Sapienza asked about a recognition thank you regarding LP’s Field of Dreams. LP Superintendent Steve Wrobleski confirm. Alderman Ferrari stated he is not in favor but based on the explanation from Finance Officer Justin Miller, his opinion was turned 180 percent.
ASM/Police Chief Doug Bernabei reported on the following security improvements at the Peru Municipal Building based on recent events:
• Adding egress doors where needed
• Adding security glass at the counters
• Adding presence of a police officer during meetings
Finance Officer Justin Miller reported on investment looking for 1.9% for 36 mos.
ADJOURNMENT
Alderman Buffo made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. Alderman Radtke seconded the motion and motion carried. Meeting adjourned 6:39 p.m.
