City of Peru Committee of the Whole met Feb. 5.

A Committee Of A Whole meeting was called to order by City Clerk Dave Bartley in the Peru City Council Chambers on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.
City Clerk Dave Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Ferrari, Lukosus, Radtke, Sapienza, Payton, Ballard and Buffo present; Alderman Waldorf arrived at 6:45 p.m.; Mayor Harl present.
MINUTES
City Clerk Dave Bartley presented the Committee Of A Whole Minutes of January 20, 2020. Alderman Radtke made a motion that the minutes be received and placed on file. Alderman Lukosus seconded the motion; motion carried.
PRESENTATION
OPEN COMMITTEE DISCUSSION
City Engineer Eric Carls provided an update on the following projects:
• Donlar Avenue Lift Station
o Near completion
o Lift station is operating
o Working on the insurance
o Favorable report by forensic engineer
o Estimated loss near $250,000
Mayor Harl complimented the Electric and Public Works Departments for keeping the interim pumps running.
• Peoria Street
o Working with Finance Officer Justin Miller to adjust contracts (allocation of funds) with Advanced Asphalt and John Pohar and Sons due to MFT changes
o Working on adjustment with crossroad tie ins
• 7th Street Water Main Phase 2 and Area 5 Combined Sewer Separation -Phase 5
o Advertise to bid
• Arby’s Deep Sewer
o Finalizing plan and working to determine how the project with fit in the long-term plan
• IDOT Resolution N. Peoria Street
o Supplemental resolution on regular agenda to expend MFT funds totaling $1.5 million
• Police Station
o Ongoing planning
• 6th Street Project
o Permitting and design work underway
• General Fund Street Program
o Evaluation and presentation at next Committee Of A Whole meeting
Mayor Harl reported on the two senior living projects (4th and Peoria Street and Wenzel Road) that were presented to the City.
Mayor Harl stated both projects were approved for the first round with full reports to follow.
Corporate Counsel Scott Schweickert reported on the Trollinger properties reporting ongoing progress.
Alderman Ferrari asked about the 1528 Pulaski Street property safety hazard and asked if it could be boarded up. City Engineer Eric Carls stated he would research code.
Finance Officer Justin Miller reported a draft budget will be ready by March 2nd.

Alderman Ferrari made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. Alderman Sapienza seconded the motion and motion carried.
