City of Oglesby issued the following announcement on April 4.
Effective immediately the City of Oglesby is initiating a ban on burning this Spring. This ban will continue until further notice.
The burn ban includes the burning of all yard waste and recreational fires (examples: fire pits or bonfires). Grilling is allowed at this time. As a reminder, the the burning of garbage is never permitted.
Respiratory issues brought on by COVID-19 have forced us to make many changes to how we operate on a daily basis. I believe this change is in the best interest for the safety of our community.
We will continue to monitor the situation and keep our residents informed of any changes. Please continue to stay safe.
