Waltham Community Consolidated School District 185 Staff/Board Personnel Committee of the Whole met March 5.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

Chairperson Jim McCabe called the Staff/Board Personnel Committee of the Whole dinner meeting of March 5, 2020 to order at 5:32 p.m.

Roll Call: Board Members present at the time of roll call were: Skip DeMaso, Jason Depenbrock, Buffy Hoskins, Kathy Jereb, Nicole Mertes, Brian Shofner and Jim McCabe

Dinner from Cheese Shop & Deli was served.

Staff in Attendance: Kristi Eager, Nina Mitchell, Tiffany Lewis, Kathy Schultz, Jackie Lucio, Barbara Harte, Andy Goth, Katye Alvarado, Joan Graham, Heather Linnig, Kayla Guenther, Ray Bailey, Brenda Kirsteatter, Dan Gustafson, Seth Brannan, Melanie Lukacsy, Eric Bara, Shaun DeFore, Jaime Voss and Susan Hewitt.

Mr. McCabe greeted the staff and Board members, and the teachers presented a Phenomenal Waltham poem.

Discussion Topics:

1. Mr. McCabe asked those in attendance to brainstorm where does Waltham go from here. 

Group ideas included:

a. Shadowing within the school

b. Continue having older students working with the younger students

c. Improve the Media Center with more books

d. Increase the STEM program towards a STEAM program

e. Continue with Tribe Time

f. Construct a walking path around the property

g. Introduce Career Paths during Tribe Time

Motion to adjourn by Jason Depenbrock, second by Buffy Hoskins. Motion carried with 7 yeas, 0 nays. Meeting adjourned at 6:49 p.m.
