City of Ottawa issued the following announcement on May 29.
Officials for the CSX railroad have announced they will be closing the railroad crossings in Ottawa at: Chestnut, LaSalle, Guion, Champlain Streets & Old Chicago Road (between Canal Road and E. Norris Drive) beginning Thursday, May 28. 2020 at 6:00 a.m. The closings are necessary to install continuous rails. Work is to begin at the Chestnut Street crossing and proceed easterly to the other intersections as each crossing is finished. Weather permitting, the crossings are expected to be completed within a few days.
Drivers needing to use crossings effected are asked to use caution while traveling in the work zones and be prepared for the possible temporary rerouting of traffic.
