Analysis: Ottawa pays $3.30 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Ottawa Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 76.8 percent of the $1,141,702 the Ottawa Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.30 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Ottawa contributed $876,462 to the fund, which saw a $5,256 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $265,239, or 23.2 percent, in 2018. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
