Analysis: Mendota pays $4.07 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Mendota Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.3 percent of the $167,585 the Mendota Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.07 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Mendota contributed $134,561 to the fund, which saw a $13,713 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $33,025, or 19.7 percent, in 2018.
