Q4 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Bureau County?

There were eight offenders released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2019 that live in Bureau County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Illinois Valley Times.

The data shows that seven men and one woman were released in Bureau County. The median age of the parolees was 53. The youngest parolee was a 40-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018, and the oldest was a 86-year-old man sentenced for a sex crime in 2009.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Curt A. Koehler. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2014 when he was 50 years old. He is now 56.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the fourth quarter of 2019 in each Bureau County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
