City of LaSalle Streets, Alleys and Traffic Committee met July 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Chairman Bacidore called the meeting to order at 6:19 p.m.

Present- Chairman Bacidore, Alderman Ptak, Alderman Reynolds, Alderman Lavieri, Alderman Jeppson Alderman Herndon (Arrival at 6:21 p.m.), Alderman Crane

AbsentOthers Present: City Clerk Carrie Brown, Deputy City Clerk Brent Bader

A quorum was present.

Chairman Jim Bacidore opened the meeting to discuss a request for a stop sign at Canal and Crosat streets for east and westbound traffic. Chairman Bacidore explained the complaint was about traffic going over the speed limit, specifically during the morning and afternoon rush hour when Illinois Cement workers arrive and depart the site. Alderman John Lavieri said he used to live there for 11 years and never noticed an issue, he last lived there in 2000. Alderman Jerry Reynolds said he visited the site and drivers were traveling at speeds over the speed limit. He also noted kids play in the area. Chairman Bacidore asked if anyone was in attendance who lived in the area and received no answers. Aldermen Jordan Crane, Joe Jeppson and Lavieri voted no while Chairman Bacidore and Aldermen Reynolds and Tom Ptak voted yes. The tie was broken when Alderman Boo Herndon arrived at 6:21 p.m. and voted no.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:22 p.m.
