Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Chairman Bacidore called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m.

Absent-

Others Present: Alderman Demes, City Engineer City Clerk Carrie Brown, Deputy City Clerk Brent Bader

A quorum was present.

Chairman Bacidore opened the meeting to discuss a request for a No Outlet sign at the Route 351 entrance to the Country Aire subdivision and a No Outlet sign at each dead end in the subdivision. Alderman Crane had spoken to the resident who requested the signs as travelers have been entering the area and hitting mailboxes when turning around in driveways. City Engineer Brown said the only place he would think that would require a sign would be at the northeast corner of Carlene Drive and Country Aire Avenue as it is difficult to visually determine it is a dead end at that intersection. The other dead- end locations should be visible from the intersection. Alderman Herndon motioned to make a recommendation to the City Council to place the No Outlet sign at the northeast corner of Carlene Drive and Country Aire Avenue and Alderman Reynolds seconded the motion. All alderman voted in favor of the sign.

Chairman Bacidore then opened the conversation on placing two stop signs at the intersection of Crosat and Canal streets, a previously discussed topic at their July 13 meeting. Bacidore explained the request was for two stop signs going east and west in addition to the already established stop sign for southbound traffic on Crosat, creating a three-way stop. Mike Cioni was in attendance and called the are a “speedway.” He noted new families in the area mean additional children which is a dangerous environment when cars are speeding by. Alderman Lavieri questioned whether travelers would stop for a stop sign if they’re already breaking the speed limit and Alderman Bacidore said he is familiar with the area and has seen the issues Cioni mentioned. Alderman Reynolds motioned to make a recommendation to the City Council to place the two stop signs for eastbound and westbound traffic at Crosat and Canal streets which was seconded by Alderman Ptak. All alderman voted in favor of the stop signs.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
