Utica Fire Protection District responded to 48 calls in 2018 - 9.1 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Utica included 37 fires - 17 structure fires, nine vehicle fires and 11 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $1,551,000 in fire loss - or about $41,919 per fire.

The department also received 10 false calls.

The Utica Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $1,057,304 in 2018.
