Earlville Fire Protection Department responded to 23 calls in 2018 - 20.7 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Earlville included 18 fires - six structure fires, one vehicle fire and 11 other fires.

In all, the department saw $312,600 in fire loss - or about $17,367 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related death.

The Earlville Fire Protection Department had an annual budget of $678,016 in 2018.
