Cherry Fire District responded to 11 calls in 2018 - 10 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Cherry included 11 fires - five structure fires, three vehicle fires and three other fires.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury.

The Cherry Valley FPD Firefighter's Pension Fund, which has 17 active employees and one retired or inactive employee, was $195,340 positive as of April 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $19,534 for every fire in 2017.
