Board President Jim McCabe called the Waltham Elementary School Board meeting of July 15, 2020 to order at 6:00 p.m.
Roll Call: Board Members present: Skip DeMaso, Jason Depenbrock, Kathy Jereb, Nicole Mertes, and Brian Shofner.
Board Members Absent: Buffy Hoskins (arrived at 6:17 pm after Consent Agenda), and Jim McCabe.
Also Present: Mrs. Kristine Eager, Superintendent and Mrs. Melanie Lukacsy, Principal

c) Treasurer’s Report,
d) Destruction of Audio Recordings: Executive Sessions-7/25/18, 8/15/18, 9/19/18, & 12/19/18,
e) Approval of Hazardous Transportation Resolution,
f) Correction of June 17, 2020 Motion to Abolish Working Cash Fund as of June 30, 2020-should have stated Transfer $30,000 from the Working Cash Fund to the Ed Fund as of June 30, 2020.
Roll Call Vote: “Yeas” –Skip DeMaso, Jason Depenbrock, Kathy Jereb, Nicole Mertes, and Brian Shofner. “Nays” – None. Motion carried with 5 yeas, 0 nays.
Reports, Updates and Informational Items:
1. Facilities-Mrs. Eager updated the Board: waiting on the Emergency Exit signs for the shed; using black dirt from the parking lot addition for landscaping around the shed; and there are various parties interested in the South building.
2. 4th Quarter Financials: Prior to the audit next week we are $75,000 ahead of the budget.
3. PRESS Policies-1st Reading: Suggested changes and new policies.
4. Back to School Transition Plan: Mrs. Eager and Mrs. Lukacsy outlined the transition plan for the board.
5. Additional Handbook Changes: Suggestions and additions to the handbook.
6. Policies 7:345 & 7:345 AP, E2-1st Reading: New policies needed to be approved for the additional handbook changes.

7.1 Waive 2nd Reading of PRESS Policies: Brian Shofner moved, second by Skip DeMaso to waive the 2nd Reading of the PRESS Policies. Motion carried with 6 yeas, 0 nays.
7.2 Approve Additional Handbook Changes: Nicole Mertes moved, second by Brian Shofner to approve the additional Handbook Changes. Motion carried with 6 yeas, 0 nays.
7.3 Waive 2nd Reading of Policies 7:345 & 7:345 AP, E2: Skip DeMaso moved, second by Brian Shofner to waive the 2nd Reading of Policies 7:345 & 7:345 AP, E2. Motion carried with 6 yeas, 0 nays.
7.4 Approve the Back to School Transition Plan: Buffy Hoskins moved, second by Skip DeMaso to approve the Back to School Transition Plan. Motion carried with 6 yeas, 0 nays.
Executive Session: Brian Shofner moved, second by Nicole Mertes to adjourn to Executive Session to discuss appointment, employment, compensation, performance or dismissal of specific personnel and student discipline, review of minutes lawfully closed at 7:36 p.m.

Review of January to June, 2019 Executive Session Minutes: Buffy Hoskins moved, second by Brian Shofner the Executive Session minutes from January - June, 2019 remain confidential and therefore closed to public inspection. Motion carried with 6 yeas, 0 nays.
9.2 Employment: Brian Shofner moved, second by Skip DeMaso to employ Mrs. Kathleen DiLuciano a Half-Day, Long-Term substitute teacher contingent on the COVID 19 crisis. Motion carried with 6 yeas, 0 nays.
Motion to Adjourn: Buffy Hoskins moved, second by Skip DeMaso to adjourn at 7:53 p.m. Motion carried with 6 yeas, and 0 nays.
