Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Bureau County?

There were 15 offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in Bureau County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Illinois Valley Times.

The data shows that 14 men and one woman were released in Bureau County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 36. The youngest parolee was a 26-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2019, and the oldest was a 61-year-old man sentenced for a crime against justice in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Edwin Rodriguez. He was convicted of homicide in 2003 when he was 18 years old. He is now 35.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2020 in each Bureau County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
