Ottawa home prices rise in the first quarter of 2020

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2020 in Ottawa rose by $18,000 while total sales decreased by 9%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2020, there were 61 homes sold, with a median sale price of $120,000 - a 17.6% increase over the $102,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 67 homes sold in Ottawa in the first quarter of 2019.

The median sales tax in Ottawa for the most recent year with available data, 2018, was $3,283, approximately 2.7% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2020.
