Ottawa home prices rise in the first half of 2020

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2020 in Ottawa rose by $6,100 while total sales decreased by 17.1%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2020, there were 141 homes sold, with a median sale price of $124,000 - a 5.2% increase over the $117,900 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 170 homes sold in Ottawa in the first half of 2019.

The median sales tax in Ottawa for the most recent year with available data, 2018, was $3,283, approximately 2.6% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2020.
