City of Ottawa issued the following announcement on Nov. 28.
Ottawa has been awarded $714,750 for this grant program by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) as funded by the Local Coronavirus Urgent Remediation Emergency & Economic Support Payments Grants Program (CURE-ES).
Mayor Aussem stated, “The City Council has strived to follow up with every opportunity available to help our citizens get through these hard times. We are as frustrated as everyone with this terrible pandemic and how it has impacted small businesses in our area. Hopefully with these new grants we can help small businesses weather this storm.”
Grant awards will be prioritized based on the level of business interruption experienced by the business and whether the business has utilized other government programs such as PPP and EIDL.
Grant amounts will range between $1,500 to $25,000 depending on the size of the business.
Eligible businesses must be retail, restaurant or restaurant-bar establishments inside the City of Ottawa corporate limits with less than 50 full-time-equivalent employees and meet all other eligibility requirements in the Ottawa CURE-ES Program Notice and DCEO CURE-ES program Notice of Funding Opportunity.
The Ottawa CURE-ES Program Notice and Applications are available online at the www.CityofOttawa.org homepage.
