CITY OF OTTAWA: Ottawa CURE-ES Business Grant Round 2

City of Ottawa issued the following announcement on Dec. 23.

The City of Ottawa announces a SECOND ROUND of applications in the Ottawa CURE-ES Grant Program. This is a grant opportunity for small retail/restaurant/restaurant-bar businesses who have experienced a business interruption due to the Covid-19 virus.

Ottawa has about $200,000 remaining to award for this grant program. This program is from the Illinois DCEO as funded by the Local CURE-ES Payments Grants Program. Businesses will apply to the City of Ottawa for this grant as detailed in the Grant Notice in the link below.

The application deadline is Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 4:30

p.m.

This Round 2 will be for the funds not awarded in Round 1. The application rules are slightly relaxed for Round 2.

Notable changes from Round 1:

• The minimum 2019 sales tax to qualify to apply is dropped from $3,500 down to $500

• The date that a business must have been open in Ottawa is changed from “1-01-19 or before” to “4-01-19 or before”.

• The “same ownership since 2019” requirement has been dropped.

• Dropped “non-essential business” requirement, but with a 6-point scoring bonus if non-essential.

• Dropped “no Ottawa DSBS grant” requirement, but with a 6-point scoring bonus if have not received DSBS.

• Increased maximum number of owned store operating locations from 2 to 4.

• All grants including Round 1 will range from $6,000 to $25,000 depending on business size.

Applications can be downloaded, filled out and submitted via email as detailed in the Grant Notice at www.cityofottawa.org, or paper copies are can be picked up and submitted to Ottawa City Hall at 301 West Madison Street.
