City of Oglesby issued the following announcement on Feb. 26.
The Ameren substation had a loss of power at their 138KV to 34.5KV transformer that feeds the distribution system which then feeds Oglesby’s primary substation(among other communities’ substations). After they restored power to their transformer they had some further problems with their “switching gear”. We have word from Ameren that their troubleshooting is complete and all circuits are back online. On a side note, the city is continuing to work with the IMEA and Ameren on the secondary delivery point study that we agreed to pay for. Having a secondary delivery point into the city where we could feed all residents and businesses with a redundant power source would help reduce or eliminate these type of interruptions in the future.
