An introduction of Oglesby’s newest Police Officer, Randy Slimko Leininger and Oath of Office. Patrolman Leininger was sworn in and given the Oath of Office by Commissioner Lijewski.
A MOTION WAS MADE BY ARGUBRIGHT, SECONDED BY CURRAN to approve the raffle license application for Illinois Valley Association of Realtors. AYES: ARGUBRIGHT, CULLINAN, CURRAN, LIJEWSKI, RIVARA.
A MOTION WAS MADE BY LIJEWSKI, SECONDED BY CURRAN to approve the raffle license application for American Legion Post 237. AYES: ARGUBRIGHT, CULLINAN, CURRAN, LIJEWSKI, RIVARA
A MOTION WAS MADE BY ARGUBRIGHT, SECONDED BY CURRAN to approve 1151-020121 an ordinance rezoning certain property in the City of Oglesby. AYES: ARGUBRIGHT, CULLINAN, CURRAN, LIJEWSKI, RIVARA Mayor Rivara states the property is located at the SE corner of the intersection of Marquette Avenue and Sunset Street.
A MOTION WAS MADE BY CURRAN, SECONDED BY LIJEWSKI to place on file 1152-021621 an ordinance renaming Roebuck Street in the City of Oglesby to Sunset Street. AYES: CULLINAN, CURRAN, LIJEWSKI, RIVARA. NAYS: ARGUBRIGHT Commissioner Curran explains there is no one currently using Roebuck Street as an address. Commissioner Argubright questions the costs involved in changing the name of the street. Commissioner Curran is not sure of all costs involved. Attorney Andreoni reminds the council that a certified copy will have to be sent to the County Clerk’s office once it is approved.
A MOTION WAS MADE BY LIJEWSKI, SECONDED BY ARGUBRIGHT to place on file 1153-021621 an ordinance authorizing the City of Oglesby to enter into a secondary employer indemnity and conditions agreement with the City of Peru and with the City of Lasalle. AYES: ARGUBRIGHT, CULLINAN, CURRAN, LIJEWSKI, RIVARA.
A MOTION WAS MADE BY ARGUBGIHT, SECONDED BY CURRAN to appoint Sarah Volmer and Bob Mente to fill the vacancies on the Plan Commission Board. AYES: ARGUBRIGHT, CULLINAN, CURRAN, LIJEWSKI, RIVARA
A MOTION WAS MADE BY ARGUBGIHT, SECONDED BY LIJEWSKI to approve and award the sealed bids for two City trucks to Sonny Ball and David Blair. Sonny Ball was awarded the 2004 Dodge for $2,000 and the 1992 Chevy was awarded to David Blair for $305.00. AYES: ARGUBRIGHT, CULLINAN, CURRAN, LIJEWSKI, RIVARA

Commissioner Reports:
Argubright: none
Lijewski: Fire department had 9 calls and the Ambulance department had 76 calls and 38 were transfers. Police department: the part time officers filled 12 vacancy shifts. There were 7 warrants served in the month of January. The Police Department has met conditions for certification for Federal Use of Force.
Curran: money was received from GTI. The switch problem is being looked at by the Electric Department. Ameren will be doing pole inspections in the coming months.
Cullinan: There is a leak in roof of the Dickinson House and will need to be repaired. The Mayor question what part of the roof was repaired. The parking lot of the Dickson House is also in need of resurfacing.
Mayor’s report: Mayor Rivara thanks the City employees for all of their hard work keeping the streets cleared. The city is looking into having a designated phone line for council meetings. The city will be holding a recycling event on April 24, 2021. Tag Day dates need to be submitted by March 15, 2021. Mayor Rivara reminds residents not to park on the streets when there is 2” or more of snowfall. Currently past due utility bills are at $68,500.00. Mayor Rivara encourages residents to call or stop in City Hall to set up a payment plan.
