CITY OF OGLESBY: TBM Avenger Reunion Airshow & Salute to Veterans Parade

Jetplane

City of Oglesby issued the following announcement on Apr. 23.

Mark your calendars now to attend the 2021 "TBM Avenger Reunion & Salute to Veterans Parade". This year's event promises to be the best one yet and will take place Friday, May 14th & Saturday, May 15th in 2021 at Illinois Valley Regional Airport (KVYS) in Peru, Illinois. www.tbmreunion.org

This years event will feature terrific aerial displays, both during the daylight and starlight, as well as the wonderful & honoring "Salute to Veterans" parade. It is an event that the whole family will enjoy. Of course, make sure you make plans to attend both the Friday Evening Edition as well as the Saturday Day Edition to ensure that you have seen everything.

Friday Night:

Beginning at 6 PM on Friday, May 14th; the airport will come to life with warbirds, cars & more! A terrific car show will take place featuring classics, sports, and many others. Grab a beer at the beer garden and enjoy a terrific concert as the sun continues to set. Once its dark enough, AeroShell Aerobatic Team will take to the skies in their four T-6/SNJ Texans to perform a beautiful night airshow routine. Complete with lights, smoke, and the roar of those engines...this is something you will NOT want to miss. The events for Friday will conclude by 10:00 PM

Saturday:

Saturday, May 15th will feature events taking place from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This day will feature the "Salute to Veterans" Parade which will be BIGGER & BETTER than it ever has before. We encourage all veterans to participate.

Saturday will also feature as many TBM's that could possibly come (14 are presently confirmed). So make sure you don't miss the amazing sights & sounds of seeing this many TBMs in the skies over Peru. The warbird action doesn't stop there though...don't miss out on seeing AeroShell Aerobatic Team, a rare Grumman F6F Hellcat, a P-51 Mustang, a Corsair, a gaggle of T-6s, Amazing Jets, a contingent of trainers from PT's to AT-6's and MORE! You'll certainly be in warbird heaven and there is no saying what else could possibly show up (there are always a few surprises).

ADMISSION & PARKING ARE FREE THANKS TO OUR WONDERFUL SPONSORS. But please donate any amount you can so we can continue to operate this wonderful event annually.
