The Ronald McDonald House Charities will soon be receiving additional aid thanks to legislation filed by Sen. Win Stoller (R-Germantown Hills).
Bill 81 allows residents to donate to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Fund simply by checking a box on their state income forms, according to a release on Stoller's site.
“The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois is a valuable part of our community that services over 29 counties in our region,” said Stoller. “The critical services that they provide to families dealing with the hardships of a sick child cannot be overstated.”
Illinois State Sen. Win Stoller sponsored the bill that was signed into law on July 9.

The charity provides resources for families of hospitalized children, and "strives to serve and sustain families who need it most", Stoller's site said.
With the new addition, Illinois now has six tax checkoff program options, according to a the senator's press release.
Stoller wrote in a Facebook post that the checkoff option would ensure the charity’s mission moving forward.
"The new tax checkoff that this legislation creates will help ensure that the Ronald McDonald House Charities are able to continue their vital work for the families of sick children,” he wrote. “It is my honor to assist them with their mission of keeping families together while their child receives treatment."
