Alderman Lavieri began the discussion in regards to the “No Parking Sign” on the 1600 Block on Campbell and he mentioned that the street is not very wide and it measures 24’x8’. Alderman Demes had numerous conversations with past city councils in regards to this location and the no parking signs due to school parking issues. This current situation is the one working solution that has worked for the past 12 years for the residents in the area. Alderman Lavieri spoke with Supt. DeBernardi and he mentioned a school expansion will be happening next year and school traffic will be changing again.

Alderman Lavieri felt that a sign change was probably not necessary because Chief Smudzinski approved not ticketing on the west side due to an event that was happening last weekend on the 1600 block of Campbell.

Alderman Ptak wanted to remind the committee that this was an issue 12 years ago and the council resolved it at the time and there has not been a complaint since. He agrees with Alderman Demes and questions if it is worth it to change an ordinance that has been working for the last 12 years.

Moved by Alderman Ptak and seconded by Alderman Reynolds to deny the request to change the “No Parking” signs on the west side of the 1600 Block of Campbell to be only in effect during school hours.
