A Regular Meeting Of The Oglesby City Council Was Held At City Hall. The Meeting Was Called To Order At 7:00 P.M.

Present: Commissioners Argubright, Cullinan, Curran, Lijewski, Mayor Rivara, Attorney Barry And City Clerk Eitutis

A moment of silence is held for former City Commissioners Bruce Farnetti and Rose Zombracz.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY LIJEWSKI, SECONDED BY ARGUBRIGHT to approve the regular meeting minutes from July 6, 2021. AYES: ARGUBRIGHT. CULLINAN, CURRAN, LIJEWSKI, RIVARA.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY ARGUBRIGHT, SECONDED BY LJEWSKI to approve bills as presented for payment. AYES: ARGUBRIGHT, CULLINAN, CURRAN, LIJEWSKI, RIVARA. Commissioner Argubright notes that the dates should reflect 07/07/2021-07/19/2021.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY ARGUBRIGHT, SECONDED BY CURRAN to approve second quarter building permits in the amount of $247,685.00 . AYES: ARGUBRIGHT, CULLINAN, CURRAN, LIJEWSKI, RIVARA.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY ARGUBRIGHT, SECONDED BY LIJEWSKI to approve 1171-071921 an ordinance appropriating funds for 2021-2022 fiscal year. AYES: ARGUBRIGHT, CULLINAN, LIJEWSKI, CURAN, RIVARA. Commissioner Argubright asks if there has been any change from last year? Attorney Barry explains the figures come from Auditor Joel Hopkins. Commissioner Lijewski stated nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

Old Business: Commissioner Curran states that the following streets will be getting parking modifications: Florence, South School, Morris, Prospect, Jordan, Jones and Lehigh. The change will be to allow parking on at least one side of the street. Commissioner Lijewski is hopeful that the Commissioner’s could give feedback on reviewing the ordinance book.

Commissioner Reports:

Argubright: taxes are being distributed to the City

Lijewski: the ceiling in the TRIDENT facility has collapsed in the upstairs of the Police Department and the City Clerk has started the cleanup process. Discusses the complaints in regards to garbage pick-up within the City. Commissioner Lijewski reached out to Republic Services to see what the issues were. Republic Services state that there has been turnover and hopes to have someone in place and trained by October. Commissioner Lijewski encourages residents to reach out if their garbage is missed.

Curran: discusses the grant that was approved a few years ago in regards to fire hydrants. Commissioner Curran notes that there have been modifications to the grant and the City cannot replace the hydrants ahead of time and Curran does not want to put the City in jeopardy of losing the grant. One business (Industrial Pump)reached out and took advantage of the lighting program offered by the IMEA. The res of the funds will be used for lighting upgrades around the city. The outage that was caused last week was due to a contractor.

Cullinan: State Minor League Championship will be held at Bottomley Field July 31, 2021- August 6, 2021.

Mayor’s report: a thank you card was received from the Bruce Farnetti family.
