City of LaSalle Zoning Board of Appeals met Sept. 7

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Chairman Thompson called the Meeting to order at 5:00pm

ROLL CALL

Present: Bob Thompson, Nikki Baer, June Gardner, Larry Happ, Sam McNeilly, Mike Schmotzer

Absent: NONE

Other Present: City Attorney Jim McPhederan, Alderman Jim Bacidore, Deputy Clerk Brent Bader

A quorum was present.

Moved by Larry Happ and seconded by Bob Thompson to waive the reading of the public notice and to proceed with order of the petition.

Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Attorney McPhederan clarified that there was a correction on variance from 6’x4’ to 12’x5’.

The Petitioner, Jerry Roberson, of 522 Lafayette Street, was present and came forward to speak. The petitioner did explain that he was hoping to extend his porch out by 5’. The residents need the variance so the porch does not fall on the property line. Alderman Bacidore spoke in place of Brian Brown, city engineer, to explain that the city has no issues with this.

Moved by Larry Happ and seconded by Nikki Baer to approve and accept the ordinance authorizing variance concerning premises at 522 LaFayette Street. ROLL CALL

AYE: Bob Thompson, Nikki Baer, June Gardner, Larry Happ, Sam McNeilly, Mike Schmotzer

NAY: None Absent: None Abstain: None

There were no more questions or comments from the public.

Moved by Larry Happ and seconded by June Gardner to adjourn the meeting at 5:04pm. Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
