A MOTION WAS MADE BY CURRAN SECONDED BY LIJEWSKI to Approve 1172-080221 an Ordinance Amending Certain Paragraphs of Section 10.27.075 of the Municipal Code of the City of Oglesby Relating to No Parking Zones on Certain City Streets. AYES: ARGUBRIGHT, CULLINAN, CURRAN, LIJEWSKI, RIVARA. Commissioner Curran gives explanation as to what streets will have changes made/signs removed.
A MOTION WAS MADE BY CURRAN, SECONDED BY ARGUBRIGHT to Approve 080219R a Resolution Authorizing the Mayor to Execute an Administrative Order on Consent Relating to the Sewage Treatment Plant of the City of Oglesby. AYES: ARGUBRIGHT, CULLINAN, LIJEWSKI, CURAN, RIVARA. Commissioner Curran gives explanation in regards to the Resolution and states it gives a “roadmap of the timeframe”. Attorney Barry states there were a lot of negotiations involved between the City and the EPA and also states a long-term control plan has to finished by the end of 2021.
A MOTION WAS MADE BY LIJEWSKI, SECONDED BY CURRAN to approve Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council contract from May 2021- April 2025. AYES: ARGUBRIGHT, CULLINAN, LIJEWSKI, CURAN, RIVARA. Mayor Rivara stares it is a four-year contract, 3% raises were given, and 12-hour shifts remain. Commissioner Lijewski states there is a differential pay for Sergeant’s.
A MOTION WAS MADE BY LIJEWSKI, SECONDED BY CURRAN to Approve selling 2014 Ford Explorer from the Oglesby Police Department through sealed bid process. Bids to be submitted to City Hall by 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2021. AYES: ARGUBRIGHT, CULLINAN, LIJEWSKI, CURAN, RIVARA. Commissioner Lijewski states the vehicle has not been in service for a while.
A MOTION WAS MADE BY LIJEWSKI, SECONDED BY ARGUBRIGHT to Approve request from the Starved Rock Runners Club to host the Turkey Trot on November 25, 2021. AYES: ARGUBRIGHT, CULLINAN, LIJEWSKI, CURAN, RIVARA.
A MOTION WAS MADE BY ARGUBRIGHT, SECONDED BY CURRAN to Approve request from the Knights of Columbus to hold a tootsie roll drive on September 18, 2021. AYES: ARGUBRIGHT, CULLINAN, LIJEWSKI, CURAN, RIVARA.

Argubright: none
Lijewski: Fire Department had 14 calls, the Ambulance Department had 66 calls of which 25 were transfers. The squad car that was involved in the shooting in December 2020 has been returned to the Police Department and has been declared a total loss. School Safety Tips have been put on the Police Departments web and Facebook page. The Police Department 95 traffic stops, 11 citations, 15 accidents and are working on 23 police reports. Commissioner Lijewski state the First Responder Night Out was a great success and thanks Hyvee, Green thumb Industries, Laura’s East End Tap, Subway, Becks Gas Station and Laborer’s Local 393. Nearly 200 hot dogs were served. Free swimming, bounce house, dunk tank, foam party, junior fireman agility course, canine demonstration and OSF helicopter were all a part of the event. Bicycles and other prizes were given away. Commissioner Lijewski thanks Peru canine Officer and K9, US Army Corps of Engineers, Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Oglesby Elks, Oglesby Parks Department and swimming pool staff and Patty Eichelkraut and Erin Quick and local fire responders. The officer of the month is Sergeant Hugo Gonzalez and congratulates him.
Curran: the Street Department will begin taking signs down on selected streets. Maintenance on the City’s circuits will be upcoming and may experience a 15- minute outage.
Cullinan: baseball tournaments are happening until August 6, 2021
Mayor’s report: states a thank you letter was received from the Dickinson House foundation for the upgrades made to the parking lot. The City of Oglesby has submitted two proposals for solar sites at IVCC for a megawatt and ½ and IVCC would have to annex into the City. The other site is at the old fire station for one megawatt. Mayor expresses his satisfaction with the First Responder Night and thanks everyone who was involved. Mayor Rivara states the Council will not be going into closed session.
