The Committee reviewed and approved the disbursements for payment on July 21, 2021. PRESENTATION

PUBLIC COMMENT

OLD BUSINESS

Justin Miller, Finance Director

• Discuss and recommend applicant for Staff Account vacancy from upcoming retirement.

• Final Updates on Financial Policies

o Handed out updates

• Audit Update

o Auditors will be here Tuesday and Wednesday

Kim Reese, Director of Human Resources reported IPBC (health insurance) rates will be available on Friday at 9:00 a.m.

Kim Reese, Director of Human Resources reported on the upcoming IML Conference in Chicago, September 23-25, 2021 and stated an email will go out as a reminder to sign up.

Adam Thorson, Director of Parks, Recreation and Special Events reported on the Fun Zone contact previously approved by city council (7/6/21)

NEW BUSINESS

Committee discussed electrical needs relating to the IVRD and PFD facility transition at 1503 4th Street

Committee discussed and approved annual donations to Peru Little League Baseball and Peru Girls Softball in the amount of $4,000 per league.

Committee discussed the following donation requests:

• PADS-approved $1,000

• Peru Catholic-approved $100

• Boy Scouts of America-not at this time

• Stage 212-not at this time

Alderman Sapienza reported on the substation project and that the FEMA grant was not awarded. Alderman Sapienza commented that it is a pending emergency need.

Alderman Sapienza commented on the deep sewer project in the amount of $4-5 million. PUBLIC COMMENT

CLOSED SESSION

Alderman Payton made a motion to go into closed session to discuss meetings to consider the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees, including the public body’s legal counsel, or to hear testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity; collective negotiating matters between public employers and their employees or representatives and meetings where the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body is being considered, including meetings held for the purpose of discussion whether a particular parcel should be acquired, or where the public body is considering the setting of a price for sale or lease of its property. Alderman Sapienza seconded the motion. City Clerk Dave Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Payton, Sapienza, Buffo and Tieman voting aye; motion carried

Closed session began at 5:40 p.m.; ended 6:03 p.m.

Alderman Payton made a motion to reopen the meeting. Alderman Sapienza seconded the motion. City Clerk Dave Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Payton, Sapienza, Buffo and Tieman present.

Alderman Sapienza made a motion to adjourn. Alderman Tieman seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 6:01 p.m.
