Village of Tonica Board of Trustees met Oct. 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The regular meeting was called to order by President Kevin Sluder at 7:00 pm. Responding to roll call were Mike Supan Jr., Dave Wiesbrock, Bob Folty, Heather Sherman, Tom Goskusky, Mark Zimmer, Robert Steele, Todd Anderson and Jessica Bonnell. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

GUESTS: Megan Borfitz Scout Clean Energy

• Wanted to introduce Scout Clean Energy to the Village.

• Working on a wind farm that meets the West edge of Tonica.

Mary Kay Keutzer & Tina Lund

• Organizing a Halloween parade that will take place on October 31st @ 3 P.M. TVFD will be providing hot dogs & Aces & Eights will have a hot chocolate bar and games in their parking lot.

• The village will also be providing a donation towards a Christmas Parade/activities.

Village Clerk Report - Heather Sherman

• Water bills are done.

• The minutes of September’s meeting were presented and approved.

A motion was made by Todd Anderson and 2nd by Mike Supan Jr.

Treasurer Report - Jessica Bonnell

• Monthly bills were presented and approved.

A motion was made by Mark Zimmer and 2nd by Dave Wiesbrock.

Police Report - Dave Woolford

• Chief Woolford resigned after 21 years with the Tonica Police Department. CONGRATS!!

Water & Sewer/Streets & Alley Report – Jake Summers

• Dump truck has been serviced.

• Major water leak at the Grade School.

• Fixed a portion of sidewalk that caved in by the Cemetery.

Engineer’s Report - Jack Kusek

• Village trustees were not happy with street work done by UC Paving.

A motion was made by Dave Wiesbrock and 2nd by Tom Goskusky to make a partial payment in the amount of $50,000.

Attorney’s Report - Robert Steele

• A motion to pass Ordinance #646 Levy Ordinance was made by Tom Goskusky and 2nd by Mike Supan Jr. A copy of the ordinance is available at the village hall.

Trustee Comments/Complaints

• Halloween trick or treat hours will be October 31st from 5-7 P.M.

A motion was made by Mark Zimmer and 2nd by Mike Supan Jr. to adjourn meeting at 8:55 P.M.
