Report: Princeton School District spent $12,371 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Princeton High School District 500 was down 9.9 percent from five years ago, according to the Illinois Valley Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Bureau County school district spent $13,725 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,371 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 520 to 533 students over the same period.

Princeton's spending in 2019-20 was 14.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
