Princeton Township High School District #500 Board of Education met Nov. 22.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Princeton High School Board of Education, District #500, held a Regular Meeting in the Learning Resource Center. Present: Gary Hanna, Colleen Sailer, Al Taylor, Terry Smallwood, and John Young. Absent: No board members. Kirk Haring, Superintendent; Andrew Berlinski, Principal; and Jeff Ohlson, Assistant Principal and Activities Director were also in attendance

Colleen Sailer, President, called the Regular Meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. She welcomed guests and the media. The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance. There was no Public Comment.

Consent Agenda

The Consent Agenda contained Minutes from the October 27, 2021 Regular Monthly Meeting, Monthly Bills, Treasurer’s Reports, and Phelps and Zearing Farm Reports. Gary Hanna moved to approve the Consent Agenda items as presented, seconded by John Young. The motion carried on a roll call vote: Al Taylor-yes, Terry Smallwood-yes, John Young-yes, Gary Hanna yes, and Colleen Sailer-yes.

Education and Administration

Assistant Principal’s Report – Mr. Ohlson reported there were eleven nominations for students of-the-month, and congratulated the following six recipients: Rashawn Phillips, Onnestee Adams, Emma Rose Grabow, Ryan Brucker, Julia Johnson, and Morgan Bartkiewicz.

Mr. Ohlson’s report was reviewed. The attendance rate from October 20th through November 17th was 91%; the same as a year ago. There have been 98 disciplinary write-ups, with 2 in 2020-2021.

Activities Director Report – Final results for Fall sports in Volleyball and Football were summarized, with the Football team being congratulated on a great season. Winter sports participants for Girls and Boys Basketball and Wrestling are still being compiled. The Fall Play was recently performed.

Principal’s Report – Mr. Berlinski summarized the schedule for the first Semester Final Tests. A new course proposal for Pre-Algebra II was discussed as a first reading. This course is designed to help students in lower level math curriculum be successful.

Personnel – The motion to approve the following appointments was made by John Young, with a second by Gary Hanna:

Daniel Rucinski, Volunteer Wrestling Coach

Roll call: Terry Smallwood-yes, Al Taylor-yes, Gary Hanna-yes, John Young-yes, and Colleen Sailer-yes. Motion passed.

Finance

Tentative 2021 Tax Levy - The motion to approve the Tentative 2021 Tax Levy as presented was made by Gary Hanna,, seconded by Terry Smallwood. Roll call: John Young-yes, Al Taylor-yes, Terry Smallwood-yes, Gary Hanna-yes, and Colleen Sailer-yes; motion approved.

Executive Session

There was no Executive Session.

Other Business

No other business was discussed.

Adjourn

The motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:15 p.m. was made by John Young, seconded by Gary Hanna, and passed with a unanimous roll call.
