City of Peru Finance Committee met Jan. 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Payton, Sapienza, Buffo and Tieman present.

OTHER PERSONS PRESENT: OTHER PERSONS PRESENT: City Clerk Dave Bartley, Treasurer Jackson Powell, Alderman Waldorf, Alderman Lukosus, Alderman Ballard, Alderman Edgcomb, Police Chief Bob Pyszka, PSM/Fire Chief Jeff King, Finance Director Justin Miller, Director of Engineering and Zoning Eric Carls, Adam Thorson, Director of Parks, Recreation and Special Events and Corporate Counsel Scott Schweickert

MINUTES

Alderman Tieman made a motion to approve the Finance Committee Minutes of December 20, 2021. Alderman Sapienza seconded the motion; motion carried.

DISBURSMENTS

Committee reviewed and approved the disbursements for payment on January 19, 2022.

OLD BUSINESS

Justin Miller, Director of Finance provided the following finance update:

• Fiscal Year 2023 Capital Project Discussion

o Deep sewer

o Electric substation

▪ Finalizing financing options to present for consideration.

• Budget Update

o Preliminary budget presented in 2 weeks

• ERP System Update

o Three meetings complete

▪ One front runner

▪ Team will meet again to discuss

Corporate Counsel Scott Schweickert reported on a communication from Attorney Jon Brandt regarding the Cantrell Morgan (Tru Hotel) property deed. Attorney Brandt indicated the deed was forthcoming.

NEW BUSINESS

Police Chief Bob Pyszka reported there is an issue with the weather siren at Wenzel Road and Rt. 251, it is not oscillating Chief Pyszka stated crews tried to fix the problem but due to the age of the siren (over 50 years old) could not fix it and parts are not available for the siren anymore. Chief Pyszka state 3 sirens were replaced in 2001, two were replaced in 2004 and one was replaced in 2015 and this will be the last one that needs to be replaced.

Alderman Tieman made a motion to adjourn. Alderman Buffo seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 5:38 p.m.
