City of Peru Public Services Committee met March 14.

MINUTES
Alderman Lukosus made a motion to approve the Public Services Meeting minutes of February 28, 2022. Alderman Ballard seconded the motion; motion carried.

STREETS & ALLEY
Mike Perry of Chamlin and Associates reported on the bid opening for 1000 ft of Water Street. Mr. Perry stated SKI Sealcoating & Maintenance in the amount of 1,388,251.10 was the lowest responsible bidder. Mr. Perry reported the project consists of ag and rock columns, rebuild and resurface of roadway in asphalt.
Mr. Perry updated the committee on the abandonment of the Wenzel Road/Airport Road water main. Mr. Perry stated the City of LaSalle will be taking over the two services.
Mayor Kolowski initiated a discussion about a mural painting on 4th Street by a veteran’s group. Corporate Counsel Scott Schweickert suggested a resolution be prepared and permission granted. The committee concurred.
ELECTRIC
Alderman Lukosus made a motion to seek bids for truckload of 40’ poles. Alderman Edgcomb seconded the motion. City Clerk Dave Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Waldorf, Lukosus, Ballard and Edgcomb voting aye; motion carried.
LANDFILL
PSM/Fire Chief Jeff King reported the boat ramp should reopen by Wednesday.

PSM/Fire Chief Jeff King reported spring clean-up is underway.
PARKS & RECREATION
Committee reviewed and discussed the increase of the bid amount for the Washington Park Tennis Courts Improvements. Mr. Perry stated there were three bids and alternates. Mr. Perry stated the initial conservative pricing was around $225,00 and current bid is $268,000. Mr. Perry attributed the increase to scope and material costs.
Alderman made a motion to approve purchase of SG52 Fertilizer machine for Parks Department from Advanced Turf Solutions in the amount of $14,726.10. Alderman seconded the motion. City Clerk Dave Bartley called the roll with Aldermen Waldorf, Lukosus, Ballard and Edgcomb voting aye; motion carried.
