Public Works Department Updates
Public Works Supervisor Jim Dunning presented information regarding issues with Well 4 pump which goes into a fault mode. Layne, Christensen Company, a Granite Company has been contacted and we are awaiting to hear back from them. 5 tons of cold patch has been laid throughout the village and more will be needed. The preventative maintenance operational procedures were completed on all the generators by Xylem. Dunning stated the public works staff completed their general standards training. Dunning stated the signs for the bike path regarding picking up dog waste are completed and will be installed along bike path. Dunning stated the village needs to order additional signs for other areas within the village. Mayor Kernc instructed Dunning to place an order for all the signs needed so when we need to replace a sign, the village has them in their inventory. The representative from Ferguson was out to look at the meter in the brine line and will give a quote for new meter. Commissioner Kasher inquired about the locator issues with battery and camera. Dunning stated a new battery was purchased for the locator in the amount of $680.00 and the camera will be repaired which will cost approximately $1,700.00. A new camera would cost $10,000.00. To replace the complete equipment with new, would be a minimum of $16,000.00. Dunning stated the parts for the locator are still available, so to repair these, is a more feasible and economical choice.

Village Clerk Lori Holmes stated the old handhelds were place for auction on Govdeals.com and were sold in the amount of $192.00.
