Minutes of the Regular City Council meeting held May 31, 2022.

PROCLAMATION 

Proclaiming June 28 as Lily Rosploch Day in perpetuity.

DISCUSSION AND POTENTIAL ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING PETITIONS: 

Request from Designs & Signs on behalf of B & B Partners LCC to install a double-facing, non-illuminated banner sign on a wall and a double-facing, non-illuminated under canopy sign at 821 First Street and related matters.

Request for a 2022 Raffle License from Borderline Bar & Grill and related matters.

Request from the La Salle-Peru Township High School Band Parents Association to hold a Tag Day Collection on Friday, September 2 and Saturday, September 3 at the intersection of 11th and Bucklin streets as well as Beck’s, Casey’s General Store, Rudy’s Liquors, Save-A-Lot, Dollar General and Shell Gas Station and related matters.

Request of William Kathamegos for a handicapped parking sign in front of his residence at 1216 Third Street and related matters.

Request from Joe Schwamberger and Carolyn Franklin to rezone their parcel (18-10-106- 026) on the east side of Donahue Street, between Edwards and Garfield avenues, from R-1, Single-Family Residence, to R-3, Two-Family Residence, and related matters.

Request of Reynolds Condon and Katherine Condon for a lease of a small portion of city property at 106 10th Street and for consent to assignment thereof to Bruce Patterson and Margee Patterson and related matters.

REPORTS OF CITY OFFICERS 

Building Inspector’s Report for May 2022 showing total fees collected of $1,133.40 with total value of construction of $153,103.

Treasurer’s Report for May 2022 showing total cash balances in La Salle State Bank of $12,549,298.22 and in Hometown National Bank of $5,987,904.97.

Discussion and potential action on the recommendation of the Finance Committee regarding purchase of a 2022 Ram 1500 at $26,960 for the fire department and related matters.

Authorization of Pay Estimate #2 to Advanced Asphalt totaling $304,418.43 for work completed to date on the 24th Street/Wenzel Road project and related matters.

DISCUSSION AND POTENTIAL ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL ORDINANCES/RESOLUTIONS: 

Ordinance authorizing lease of small portion of municipal property at 106 10th Street and consent to assignment thereof and related matters.

Regarding pending and/or potentially imminent litigation and related matters: Collective bargaining and related matters, and acquisition and/or sale of city real estate and related matters and the employment, discipline, appointment, performance and/or compensation of non-union and/or union personnel and related matters pursuant to the Open Meetings Act including 5-ILCS 120 Section 2(c)1-2,5,6,11 thereof.
