Minutes
Moved by Steve Malinsky second by Tim McTaggart, to approve the minutes of the March 9, 2022 meeting as written. All ayes. Motion passed.
Firefighter Hiring and Retention
Chief Borkowski advised the Board that City and Fire Union officials have agreed to modify some language in the current collective bargaining agreement in an effort to attract more firefighter candidates. It is hoped that a side letter of agreement can be executed in the very near future, in an effort to have a candidate for the September fire academy.
Firefighter Entry Level Testing
A tentative date is for the written exam for entry level firefighter is June 25, 2022, depending on the status of the side letter of agreement with the Fire union.
Police Hiring Status
The Board received a request from Commissioner Less to hire one patrol officer from the current lateral hiring eligibility register, due to the recent death of Officer Brian Sember.
Moved by Steve Malinsky, second by Tim McTaggart to offer conditional employment to the remaining name on the police lateral eligibility register, Joel Smith. All ayes. Motion passed.
