City of Ottawa Special Events Committee met July 21.

Meeting called to order at 5:35 p.m.
Present: Mike Dougherty, Heidy Eisert, Peggy Schneider, Rich Crum, Jim Reilly, Wayne Eichelkraut, Jani Eichelkraut, Candy Moore
Funding Requests: 4 presented to committee:
1. Kids Fishing Rodeo: August 6th - 5 – 7p.m. at Fox and Illinois Rivers Sponsor Shoreline Boat Club request $1,000.00 for fishing poles Motion to approve Candy Moore, 2nd Peggy Schneider Approved
2. Kids Play Day: August 6th - 12 – 3 p.m. at Jordan block Sponsor OVC/Floret requesting $1,000.00 items for games, hula hoops, decorations for bikes, water melons, eggs, balloons, etc. Motion to approve Rich Crum, 2nd Jani Eichelkraut Approved
3. Ottawa Car Show: August 6th - 2 – 7 p.m. upper lot Jordan block Sponsor: La Salle County Cruisers Request up to $250.00 for handicap rest room and hand wash station Motion to approve Jim Reilly 2nd Candy Moore Approved
4. Scott Schillings Sr. Memorial Car Show: October 2nd – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Conroys Automotive and Towing request $995.00 Jumping Jacks entertainment, bounce house, Magic Matt magic show and balloon artist Motion to approve Rich Crum, 2nd Jani Eichelkraut Approved

New Business: discussion on outdoor movie equipment, city could purchase screen, rent movies etc. @$4,500.00 to $5,000.00

Pat Mansor has expressed she will not be able to continue on committee due to schedule and other commitments.
Old Business: discussion on Festival of Lights ?bands
Discussion on input from citizen concerning playing the National Anthem at Music in the Park events – no decision
Music in the Park Volunteers needed Aug 13 (Jim), Aug 20 (Lucas), Aug 27 (Lucas) Rich has control of food vendors for MIP
Parade Status – Jim Reilly for scarecrow fest 3 persons have volunteered Rich, Donna and Candy Scheduled for Sept 25th
