Shadows Of The Blue & Gray Civil War Festival is a living history event in Princeton, IL that allows you to step back in time & witness history in person.
This is an annual event that focuses on preserving & promoting Civil War era history through living history artisans, battle reenactments, music, & storytellers. We focus on education and teaching history by bringing it to life & making it exciting!
The 2016 Shadows of the Blue and Gray will be held October 8th and 9th, 2016 at beautiful City County Park just north of Princeton, IL. We are excited to be joined this year by President and Mrs. Lincoln, General Grant, General George H. Thomas and General Leonidas Polk.
We are offering bounties to all that take the field. Infantry will receive rifle caps. Artillery will receive powder and money, as well as bounty for each horse that takes the field.
Saturday night we are offering a free dinner to all our reenactor friends that register and an on site ball with period music. As always straw, hay, firewood and water will be avaiable. You can download our registration form or submit it online on our registration page.
