City of LaSalle Finance Committee met Aug. 8.

Chairman Ptak called the Meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Present: Chairman Ptak, Alderman Lavieri, Jeppson
Absent: Alderman Thompson, Alderman Herndon
Others Present: Deputy Clerk Brent Bader, Supt. Of Public Works Patrick Watson, Economic Development Director Leah Inman, Alderman Reynolds, Alderman Bacidore, Alderman Crane, Fire Chief Jerry Janick, Treasurer Virginia Kochanowski, City Engineer Brian Brown
A quorum was present.
Moved by Alderman Jeppson and seconded by Alderman Lavieri to approve and place on file the amended minutes of the Finance Committee for July 25, 2022. Each and every alderman has a copy.
Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
Moved by Alderman Lavieri and seconded by Alderman Jeppson to approve the request for repairs at the Ninth Street Water Tower Building.
Supt. Watson stated that this was the same price as quoted from last year.

MOTION CARRIED: 3-0
Moved by Alderman Lavieri and seconded by Alderman Jeppson to approve the request regarding a purchase of a 24-foot trailer for water main and sewer repairs.
Supt. Watson stated that this would be an enclosed trailer that would be used to store tolls for on-site projects. There was only one bid for this due to availability of trailers. All the following items for approval were appropriated for the year.

Moved by Alderman Jeppson and seconded by Alderman Lavieri to approve the request regarding a purchase of a 20-foot trailer for a skid loader and attachments.

MOTION CARRIED: 3-0
Moved by Alderman Jeppson and seconded by Alderman Lavieri to approve the request regarding a purchase of a John Deere Skid Steer Road Broom.
Supt. Watson stated that this piece of equipment will sweep into a bucket and also clean curbs. No water will be needed for this sweeper.

MOTION CARRIED: 3-0
Finance Director discussed the CDARS agreement. Hometown National Bank is still the custodian of the cash and is treated like a CD. The bank has partnership with other banks. Even though Hometown is still the custodian of the money, they still spread the money out to different banks. There is a guaranteed rate of return.
Moved by Alderman Lavieri and seconded by Alderman Thompson to accept the recommendation regarding a potential CDARS agreement.
