A quorum was present.

Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Herndon to approve and place on file the minutes of the Streets, Alleys and Traffic Committee for September 19, 2022. Each and every aldermen has a copy.

Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Jason Darnell, resident of 145 9th St. requested the “Residents Only” parking sign in front of his residence. He currently has no parking in front of his house a majority of the time because of the traffic in and out of Jake’s Tap. They do not have an issue with the bar or the owners at all but they currently struggle to park in front of their home when unloading. They currently only have one stall off the alleyway and their garage touches the alley. Each of Darnell’s neighbors have an additional stall in their alleyway driveway so the issue is not too big of a concern for them.

Bader mentioned that letters were sent out. He did receive 3 phone calls and all expressed their concern with one getting a sign that they all will want the same. Alderman Lavieri is concerned with this same result if this request is granted. Bacidore agrees with this concern. Herndon suggested having the city put some gravel in the alleyway next to the resident's garage. Darnell mentioned that there are two telephone poles sitting side by side. He does not believe that there is enough to lay gravel to give him more space. Darnell has spoken with the owner of Jake’s, but the issue has not been resolved.

Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Herndon to table this request at this time. The committee will look at the property and try to offer the resident some suggestions on how to solve this problem for him.

Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Deputy Bader mentioned that a resident came in on Friday to request adding a “Caution Deaf Person in Area” sign in front of 328 LaHarpe Street.

No notices went out to residents because this topic just came up on Friday and this matter is not changing any parking. The resident has a daughter in her 30s that is deaf and the resident is just hoping to make others aware in the area. Bacidore stated that there is already a city sign available to use for this property from a Creve Coeur location.

Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Ptak to approve the request to add a “Caution Deaf Person in Area” sign in front of 328 LaHarpe Street. ROLL CALL
