Veteran state Sen. Sue Rezin (R-Morris) recently posted a picture of herself taken in the Old State Capitol.

“It was an honor to be inaugurated to the State Senate at the historic IL Old State Capitol where former President Abraham Lincoln gave his famous 'House Divided” speech nearly 165 years ago,' Rezin said in a Jan. 18, post to Facebook.

On Jan. 11, Rezin posted a video to her Facebook account, with a message to her constituents: "I’m Sen. Sue Rezin, coming here from the Old Capitol in Springfield. We just finished the inauguration for the beginning of the 103rd General Assembly. It's an honor to serve you. It's an honor to serve everybody in the 38th district I'm humbled and thank you so much for your support."

Back in November, Rezin ran unopposed to win term in the Senate where she has served since first being elected in December 2010.

More recently, she was tabbed as Deputy Minority leader for Senate Republicans, a post she also held in the previous General Assembly.

In assigning her to the post, Senate Minority Leader John Curran (R-Lemont) said, “Sen. Rezin has shown a true commitment to the people of our state and improving Illinois government on their behalf. I have full trust in her leadership abilities and know that she will continue to be a tremendous asset to me and our entire caucus.”
